What I am saying is that if the Reg has a different name on it to the insurance although all parties are insured here in Drayton they always insist that the owners name has to be first on the insurance before they will tax it which I know isn't the case but my point is that there will be a great deal of human error for quite some time to come.
Zoes not insured on my cars, so the name shouldnt come into it. As long is insured MOT'd nothing else should matter, or a trader would never be able tax a car. With my trade policy I could take a car for mot when it passes I Could take my insurance docs log book in someone else's name mot and still tax it for the customer

So there could be another problem there if you take out insurance on a sat morning with the idea of buying it sat afternoon.

This explains it but its still down to the seller to let them know and if for any reason they can't then there will be a problem? especially if the owner has lost the reg doc.
