rear seatbelts Empty
PostSubject: rear seatbelts   rear seatbelts Icon_minitimeTue Aug 12, 2014 4:35 pm

The golf's due an mot but the rear seat belts are locked and won't retract so I've not fitted them.
Am I correct in thinking if I take the rear bench seat out then they can't fail it on for no seat belts?
Cheers in advance

My thoughts are..........A seat without a seat belt will fail an mot, a seatbelt without a seat wont fail.  Question

Just messaged Richard about this and he says that it will still fail? however having looked around the net I tend to think that if they aren't there then they can not be tested? but Richard is a nominated MOT mechanic so not to sure now  Mad

if you remove the seats and the belts you're in effect making it a 2 seater so will be tested as such so you'll be fine.

Some time back my car had the rear belts removed, but seats still in position.

removed rear seats + rear belts = win win pass pass MOT  Very Happy

If its not there they cant test it.  Cool

Also if your Windscreen has a crack in it that fails, kick the screen out. that way it passes  LMHO  maybe it fails on the wiper section, but the screen test then passes  Razz
